PADI Green Star Award

Being the pioneer dive resort on Malapascua Island, we have a big obligation to set as a good example to all other dive resorts on the island and we take pride of our undying tribute to our natural resources by protecting it. We always "think green" like doing things and knowing that it doesn't destroy our natural resources and helps in conserving it. Just recently we receive PADI's Green Star Award. This award is given to PADI Dive Centers and Resorts who have earned the Green Star Award demonstrate a dedication to conservation across a wide range of business functions, including (but not limited to):

Water conservation
Energy use
"Environmentally friendly" transportation practices
Optimized waste management
Use of sustainable materials
Conservation leadership
Paperless interactions with their PADI Regional Headquarters
Donation to Project AWARE

So, be sure to look for the PADI Green Star Award logo at your PADI Dive Center or Resort.

A big thanks to PADI for the recognition, this award will not only be kept in our gallery but this will serve as an inspiration to strive harder in preserving our Earth.

We have the life... we can walk... we can swim... venture... discover... Be part of us (Lets go diving!)

Every single day and age where vacations are frequently built around sporting hobbies of every kind, it stands to reason that there would be the opportunity to design something new to ourselves. In every sports hobby we wanted to, we always give the best that we can do to fulfill the satisfaction and enjoyment, whether for recreation, commercial or industrial reasons.

Scuba diving as one of the famous sports hobby in Malapascua plays a vital role in the life of foreign and travelers. Malapascua is known for some of the best shark diving in the Philippines, famous for the Thresher Sharks, which can be seen at any time of year at Monad Shoal. This is reputedly the only place in the world where these Thresher Sharks can be seen within recreational diver limits on a regular basis. The owners of Malapascua Exotic Island Dive Resort, Dik and Cora de Boer carried out the first encounters with the Thresher Sharks in 1997. Later, film crews and dive magazines from all over the world came to visit our resort just to see this phenomenon.

If you wanted to become part of our momentous memories, here are our quick tips of joining our team. By following these helpful hints, your diving period will be worth to remember.

Plan Ahead - To guarantee that your special day is exactly the way you visualize it, you need to start planning as early as possible so you don't get locked out of your diving dream. If you really want scuba diving, start planning now! Don't miss the opportunity.

Choose your Course - Make a definite lay-out of the diving courses you wanted to take. • The average yearly water temperature around Malapascua is 25degrees minimum. Most divers are comfortable in 3mml full suits with a hooded vest for those colder deeper dives.
  • The salinity of the water around Malapascua is not too high, especially in comparison to the Red Sea and Thailand. Over weighted divers are in danger of damaging coral and putting themselves at un-necessary risk.
